- What is a Wedding or celebration cheese cake?
- It is a selection of the same or, more usually, complimentary cheeses of different diameters, that are layered on top of each other to resemble a traditional wedding cake.
- Why might I choose a cheese cake over a traditional cake?
- For something different! It makes a statement and adds a memorable touch to your event. It's also a delicious alternative to traditional cake – not everyone likes cake but most people love cheese!
- Is it a cheaper alternative?
- Wedding cakes tend to be very expensive whereas a cheese cake costs on average about £2.00 per person. And it's an additional course to a meal.
- How much cheese do I need?
- This depends on what else is being eaten, but as a rough guide we would suggest, a maximum of 100g of cheese per guest.
- Can I try the cheese before I make my selection?
- Yes, when you enquire about a cheese cake, we can send out tasters of your chosen cheeses so you can be sure you have made the right choice.
- How far in advance should I order my cheese cake?
- Ideally as far in advance as possible, or at least a month before to allow for last minute changes/alternative choices.
- How much deposit is required
- We ask for a deposit of £50.00 or 25% of the value of the cake, whichever is greater. The deposit is refundable if the cake is cancelled at least one month before the occasion date (or despatch date).
- How will my guests know which cheeses they are eating?
- We will provide you with Menu Cards, one per 10 guests.
- What happens if the event is cancelled?
- If the order is cancelled at least one month before the occasion your deposit will be returned. If it is cancelled less than one month before the occasion, the deposit is not refundable.
- How are the cheeses delivered?
- We deliver our cheese in our refrigerated vans to most parts of Sussex, Surrey, Kent and London. If you live beyond our 'Delivery Area', we will send the cake by courier for a charge of £10.00 at least 4 days before the event to ensure timely delivery.
- How is it packaged?
- Each cheese will be individually wrapped and placed in its own box. The boxes will be surrounded with ice packs and packing material to make sure they stay cold and are protected during their journey. Everything will then be contained in a large box.
- What should I do with the cake when it arrives?
- When the cake arrives, unwrap it from its outer box, open the smaller boxes to check the cheese is okay and then put the cheeses in their boxes into a fridge until they are needed for the celebration.
- Can I purchase accessories/additional items?
- Yes, we can provide cheese knives, boards, platters etc. See our Cake Combinations section for details.
- How do I place an order?
- You can view our cheese cakes on line, but we believe it is very important that we talk to you about your cheese cake choice and the service we will provide, so we request that you either phone us on 01825 791 636 or contact us by email. We will call you back within 24 working hours to discuss your requirements and to take your order.
